Projects

Below are a few projects I have been involved with and am working on.

Values Photography

Common Cause is an exciting initiative  which addresses the important issue that fostering “intrinsic” values—among them self-acceptance, care for others, and concern for the natural world—has real and lasting benefits.

I have therefore embarked upon a project with the aim of capturing images of intrinsic values that relate to positive experiences with the natural world. This project began in Spring 2013 and is ongoing for the next year or so. The aim is to capture a variety of powerful and thought-provoking images which allow us to connect with the subject material in new and unexpected ways, leading to deep and meaningful changes in our understanding, perspectives and values.

Flora's Faces

I developed this project as a way to try and get people more interested in, and emotionally connected with, plants. Faces are always looking out at me as I walk through wild places and I have found sharing them to be a fun and engaging way to encourage people to find their own whilst interacting with nature in a unique and creative way.

As well as wild spaces, I also enjoy visiting Botanic Gardens for this project. With the wide variety and diversity of plants present, there are some amazing faces to be found!

2020VISION

2020VISION is an ambitious, UK-wide nature photography project. It aims to engage and enthuse a massive audience by using innovative visual media to convey the value of restoring our most important but often fragmented natural habitats - to show that healthy ecosystems are not just for wildlife, but are something fundamental to us all.

I am lucky enough to have been involved in this project as a Young Champion, based in Cumbernauld. I have really enjoyed challenging the negative connotations associated with this urban environment, and opening peoples eyes to the fantastic diversity of greenspaces and nature reserves  that the town  has to offer. Some of the pictures I have contributed to the project are opposite.

Forth Environment Link

I was commissioned by Forth Environment Link to create a 2014 calendar with the winning images from the Big Orchard Shoot competition, which ran in conjunction with their Forth Valley Orchards initiative.
